Crabs on the Island

⇒Voluntary task: write a short summary of the plot and make a commentary about what you thought after reading this story. Deadline: before coming back to school.

  1. The story starts with Cookling and his assistant on the island. Firstly, they spread the metal on the whole island and after, they put the first crab on the island. A few hours later, the first crab took energy and started to multiply crabs like him (making the crabs with the metal). The next day, they saw a different type of crab, faster than the others. The crabs started evolving like in the theory of Charles Darwin. When the metal was spent and the crabs started to fighy, they had to hide the cans of food in the sea because the cans contained metal. Finally, the crabs taken Cookling, because he had a iron denture and they killed him with an electric spark in his head. (the crabs, used an electric arc for cut the metal in the correct form). The story ends when the assistan go out from the island and let the crabs lonely.

I think that with example, many religions have no meaning, because this might explain that humans come from the monkeys, and we have been evolving during many years with Darwin´s theory.

  2. The engineer Cookling an his helped Bud were taken to a desert island by Captain Gale. They went to the island for checking if the teory’s Darwin was right. They took ten boxes with metals and in one of them, found some strange-looking apparatus.
They placed metals around the island. When the first crab consumed matal, it appeared other crab and so on. Later on, the island was full of crabs but with less metals left.
I think that it is an interesting story about the Evolution of Species.

Do you really think this is a summary of the plot? Is that all you thought after reading the story?

  3. The story is about an experiment on a desert island, where a robot with a crab shape is released. Its job is eating metal in order to make a copy of itself. Each generation makes better and more aggressive robots because they use other corpses since they haven´t got enough resources. In my opinion, the story is a little strange. Their mutation is compared to our DNA. The story ends badly because each generation manages to make more aggressive robots.
